His sire, Valiant Nature, won the $500,000.00 Hollywood Futurity and was second to Holy Bull in the Blue Grass Stakes. He ran in the Kentucky Derby and was well regarded but had a very bad trip.

Valiant Nature is by His Majesty, a stakes winner and sire of 59 stakes winners including Pleasant Colony and Cormorant.  Out of Changing Prospects - a stakes producing Dam.  Second Dam - Chimes, by Mr. Prospector - produced Chimes Band.  Third Dam was a half sister to Relaunch.  His Fourth Dam - Foggy Note - produced Relaunch.  Her family includes Glitterman, Rubiano, and Tapit.
