ARE DOWN, Hollywood Park Stakes Winning Son of DISTORTED
HUMOR, retires to PA’S Godstone Farm.
A $450,000 yearling purchase by Bob & Beverly Lewis and trained
by Bob Baffert, the highly regarded Chips Are Down was a
multiple winner at 2 while placing 2nd as even money favorite in
Santa Anita’s listed Sunny Slope S. (6 f.). At 3, Chips Are Down
won Hollywood Park’s Bien Bien S. (1 1/16 m. dirt) defeating GI
millionaire Becrux, and placed 2nd in Del Mar’s listed El Cajon
S. (1 mile). Chips Are Down won from 6 1/2f.- 1 1/16 m. while
defeating such top runners as KY Derby winner Giacomo, Santa
Anita Derby winner Buzzards Bay, G-II winner Major Success, G-II
winner Spanish Chestnut, etc. Bred by the Nuchols family,
breeders of Distorted Humor, his dam is the multiple allowance
winner, Tiy Buster, daughter of their “blue hen”, Tiy.
Chips Are Down, 5, the only son of Distorted Humor to stand in
the Mid-Atlantic, begins his stud career at Godstone Farm, Pine

of $2,000 LF/$1,500 to mares foaling in PA. He is the property
